Zine Garden
The Zine Garden is an experimental exhibition that began as a workshop. Participants were given a zine and the freedom to choose their preferred medium. After a short collaborative session involving cutting and painting, a conversation emerged around the artworks created from each participant's creative space.
This zine reflects on one person's reflections ahead of their upcoming birthday in realtime through collage art and drawings that encapsulate their feelings. The main materials were ink, water colour and newspaper scraps.
This zine was following me for a week on my journey from Graz to Banja Luka, then to Split and back to Graz. It's a collection of moments, thoughts and experiences.
I basically just made a Collage of stuff I found in magazines and news papers to parody the concept of a magazine with topics that would be in one but subjects that wouldn't. there's only one drawing in there everything else is cut from other magazines
At first I was struggling to come up with ideas but I became inspired by our environment, especially the flowers. As for the other patterns, I have always liked to do these kind of doodles for some reason and it was a nice, relaxful experience
I imagined this zine very differently, but life found its way into the process. Created during a chaotic period, it became both a way to regulate the chaos around me and a reflection of it. Rather than following a planned concept, the work captures shifting moods and the unpredictability of existing.
